One of my releases.........

I thought I would post a few pics of my release. It is very satisfying for me to feel the leaves and dirt on my hands from my babies. My plants offer me a chance to reconnect with nature. Think through my thoughts. The growth of my plants mimic my life. A new chance in a new environment. Enjoy!

ENJOYING LIFE................

As I sit here writing this homily to my two boys. One is sleeping the other is trying to get my attention to play. The love they give is interchangable. The respect they have is pure devotion!

It amazes me the similarities in the two! They could be one in the same!

Both love to play.
Both love to bite.
Both love to give kisses!
Both want my unfettered attention.
Both snore when they nap.
Both love a good scooby snack.
In fact.......look at the picture--Both are too cute for words!

Thank you Lord for the gift of both of them!

TOW-GATE..............

The chief of police, of my beloved St. Louis, involved in a scandal?

Who would have "thunk" it?

For decades now, the St. Louis police force has been the center of much "attention". Rumors of payoffs, paybacks, kickoffs, kickbacks, looking the other way for the "core" families of St. Louis....(i.e. the Busch's, Cardinal, Blues and Rams players, certain other families that I am not even brave enough to put in black and white!) Yet, the public was to eat and accept tow-gate for what it was not?

Let's review.

http://www.stltoday.com/stltoday/news/stories.nsf/stlouiscitycounty/story/139307F185BEC4508625748A0074E0D6?OpenDocument

The chief's daughter, estranged or not from the family, was involved in an ILLEGAL car scam with the POLICE's towing company. How are we to believe he KNEW NOTHING of this? Give me a break! This "daughter of the chief" was given special rights and benefits that only the chief of police's daughter could get! Even after the 2006 arrest for drugs in St. Charles county, in a car from the towing service, she was released on probation! I cannot and will not believe there was no special "interest" involved from the get go!

Here is a great quote from the St. Louis Post Dispatch summarizing his "decorated" tenure!

"The towing controversy was not the first in Mokwa's tenure. In 2007, eight police detectives were suspended after admitting they let family and friends use 2006 World Series tickets seized from scalpers near Busch Stadium. Also in 2007, thousands of dollars in cash was found to have been stolen from an evidence vault in the property-custody room in the basement of police headquarters. In 2005, the Post-Dispatch reported that the Police Department kept rape reports off the books by detailing them in informal memos that were not included in crime statistics"..........

I'm a recovered criminal. I paid my price for my crime. I did my duty and severence to society. The difference here is in the reality of our judicial system. Much in the way of OJ Simpson, money and power talk. Had the father of this "daughter", estranged or not, been a "common" man, he would be the scourge of the city.

Fair? NO

Reality? YES

Anything more on this for the public? HELL NO...........

This is yet another "tidy" clean up for St. Louis.

In the 4 months I spent at the "work house". (The city lock up for C and D felons) The place was crammed full of homeless people on trumped up charges to clean up the streets, thieves for stealing copper downspots, and young men for marijuania possesion. The average wait for trial was 6-12 months.

Compare that fact to this story.

Justice and freedom do come with a price.

PICTURE IT.............2008

A hole in my heart has been opened even further! The lovely and hysterically funny Estelle "Sophia Patrillo" Getty passed away on Tuesday, July 22, 2008.................

I have a slew of memories watching the "Golden Girls". My mother was Sophia. I was always her Dorothy.

One of my favorite quotes from the show!

Blanche: I treat my body like a temple.

Sophia: Yeah, open to everyone, day or night!

As in life, another passing. The Golden Girls, specifically Sofia, is like going home. I pray at my "older" age I am still surrounded by all my "golden girl" friends. I have many Blanches, TOO many Roses, and enough Dorothy's to populate an entire city!

Please take a moment today to think of everyone in your life who has put a smile on your face! That will be Estelle Getty's enduring blessing to the world!

Picture it........2008.

WORRIED SICK.........

I found myself tossing and turning last night. I am and have been worried sick about a dear friend of mine. His life is about to capsize for his own personal reasons. I have been there for him. And now I am in the dark.

Perhaps I shouldn't care. Perhaps it will all work out for him............I can't stand the not knowing and the thought of his pain.

If you read this, friend, know that I have been and am in your corner. Your life will be great. Your life will be very fulfilling. Things will change but those that truly love you will never leave.

Please keep me in the circle. I will do what I can. I truly care about you.

INDEPENDENCE DAY?

I have just received some very interesting news. I am very upset and hand tied here. I just discovered that no one has full time employment from their NOVASOURCE and ARCHES CARES sponsored training through St. Louis Community College.
HOW? WHY? WHAT IS EVERYONE DOING?
I understand that employment and self reliance is everyones own responsibility but after 12 weeks of promises and reassurances NOT ONE JOB?I, we, must do something about this situation. I feel a kinship with everyone in our position that was in the class. The people I met through this customer service class are intelligent, witty, and talented. They are loving. Looking for a break just like anyone else.
What is it going to take to have society open a door for us.
I have embraced my freedom.
I have embraced my job.
I have embraced the fact that no matter what I do or will do......I will always be an ex con.
A bad person. In someone's and society's eyes.
This last statement about the "bad" person only strengthens my resolve to succeed. I have to incorporate my past into my future. I have to be what it is that the Lord intended for my life to hold. One day. One hour. One life. That is all anyone can ask for. That is all anyone is given.So. Let us all put our heads together. Let us figure out what we are going to do to help our "little" society of reformed convicts.
If anyone reading this post has any job or prospects for employment that I may forward to my friends. PLEASE let me know. I feel obligated to this little circle of family.
god bless and peace out.
